or 42 years, Pearl’s Chinese Kitchen at 850 Kamehameha Hwy. in Pearl City has been serving customers at
the same location in the food court next to Don Quijote.
However, there are some changes com- ing soon, shares Pearl’s owner J.J. Lee. Due to major renovations that Don Quijote has planned, at the end of June, Pearl’s Chinese Kitchen will move to the Waipahu Don Qui- jote food court instead. The new location is scheduled to open at the beginning of July, Lee adds.
Currently Pearl’s has about 10 employ- ees, including cashiers and chefs.
“I want to keep all the workers,” Lee says.
Longtime loyal customers of the Pearl City site have been asking about the change and saying how much the business will be missed.
“They’ve gone there since they were kids,” Lee elaborates.
Lee’s husband, Sherman, started the eat- ery in 1979, and it has been family-owned SEE PAGE 7
