saying that Cheryl Cudiamat lives by is “if you find a job that you thor- oughly enjoy, you’ll never work a
day in your life.” That’s reality for the ʻAiea native, who opened Keiki Care Center of Ha- waiʻi Inc. in 2008.
“We have four kids of our own ... we just love teaching so much and knew how import- ant preschool was for children,” says Cudia- mat, who adds that she felt inspired to open after her son’s preschool closed down. “It was really something that happened overnight. I just had this feeling that this is something that we have to do. We’re still around today, and thankfully we’re COVID-free and it just seems meant to be.”
Creating a family-like environment is vital component to the school’s positive founda- tion, says Cudiamat.
“You could have the smartest child in the world, but if they don’t know how to make friends, if they don’t know how to be respect- ful to adults ... At our preschool, we hold true to old-school ways, like how we were raised.
