t’s been an exciting year for Assets School’s Team Waffles, which includes sophomore Leilei Petrossian of Hono-
lulu.
After winning the state robotics champi-
onships in January, it is one of two teams representing Hawai‘i in a world champion- ship tournament later this month.
“Being a teacher for a small school where the majority of our students learn different- ly, I’m extremely proud of our students for showing the world and themselves that they are capable,” says coach Peter Han. “Our main objective in going to the world cham- pionship is to learn and bring back as much knowledge as (we) can, and we look for- ward to interacting with amazing teams from across the world.”
Other Team Waffles members are captain Emily Kurashima, Mitchell Kee Chong, Mason Pimentel, Fay Weldon, Brenden Locquiao, Logan Wee, Blake Vasconcellos, Sydnee Rol, Kelli Ann Cabanada and Zak Campos.
