Student Organizes Cleanup
Local nonprofit WeGo! (Women Empowerment in Global Opportunities), was founded by Punahou School junior Kylee Hamamoto (right). The group recently held a successful beach cleanup with the help of more than 30 volunteers at Waimānalo Beach Park. As a result, 200 pounds of trash were removed
from the shoreline. The organization’s mission is to empower girls in order to foster strong and independent female leaders. Currently, WeGo! has expanded internationally and created chapters
in Osaka and Tokyo, Japan. For more information, visit wegohawaii.org or email 808wego@gmail.com.
