s a fifth-generation member of the Waimānalo Country Farms family, Cheyenne Adams wears multiple
hats and embraces her responsibility as the oldest sibling helping to steward the 52- acre Windward-side expanse.
“Our farm was started in 1948 by my great-granduncle, Ronald Wong,” says Adams, who serves as the farms’ event coordinator, social media manager and website manager, along with all the other duties necessary to maintain a farm. “We started as a produce-to-truck farm and then grew various crops from watermelon in the 1960s and corn in the 1970s to sunflowers, pumpkins and even beekeeping at present day.”
Located at 41-225 Lupe St., one of Waimānalo Country Farms’ most antici- pated events of the year is the annual Fall Harvest Festival. This year’s celebration runs Tuesdays-Sundays through Nov. 20.
