It’s been a great May and June especially for southern exposures from Makaha to Sandy’s. We just wrapped up a couple back-to-back, solid 5-foot, even 6-foot episodes toward the end of June. Since south swells typically last three to four days that means over a solid straight week of waves to keep us busy.
The World Tour wrapped up event No. 8 down in Bra- zil at Rio de Janeiro’s famous beach break named Saquare- ma, pronounced “sock ah ray’mah.”
The combo of what’s probably the rowdiest, most energetic crowd in surf- ing, plus the sizable peaky, punchy beach break gave pros some of the best bar- rels and airs of the tour so far this season.
Well, we have good news for Hawai‘i and Brazil.
