O‘ahu hopes to guide girls and women to- ward the journey to success.
Soroptimist International of North O‘ahu was established earlier this year by Lyn Lurbe, the club’s charter member and sec- retary, with the intention to provide sup- port and opportunities for disadvantaged females residing in areas such as Wahiawā, Whitmore Village, Haleʻiwa, North Shore, Lāʻie and Kahuku.
“We are a newly formed diverse group of people focused on our Soroptimist mission of supporting (and) improving the lives of women and girls facing obstacles such as drug addiction, homelessness, teen violence, trafficking (and) domestic violence, and (providing) career support for teen girls,” explains Lurbe. “We are here to provide edu- cational (and) informational workshops and events within our community and beyond, to raise funds to present financial support to the
