Wahiawā Lions To Hold Sign-waving

ecause of COVID-19 rules, the Wa- hiawā Lions Club’s seven decades tradition of hosting a Veterans Day
parade has been suspended again this year. Instead, the club will host sign-waving from 10 to 11 a.m. on Nov. 11 along Kame-
hameha Highway in Wahiawā.
Organizations interested in participating in
the sign-waving should visit the website our- wahiawa.com for an application. All groups need to complete an application to be assigned an area along Kamehameha Highway, and ac- knowledge their commitment to comply with social distancing and mask requirements.
Each group that joins them must have a “Mahalo Veterans” sign to hold.
Groups and individuals who do not wish to sign-wave can drive through Wahiawā and show their support for veterans. In conjunc- tion with the event, Wahiawā Lions will hold a bento fundraiser for U.S. VETS, a nonprofit organization helping veterans.
