Bridge Restoration Starts
Mililani FHB Construction Begins
A project to restore the 61-year-old pedestrian bridge spanning Wahiawā Botanical Garden begins this month.
The extensive project includes a variety of struc- tural repairs and mitigation measures, but does not in- volve any ground distur- bance. That work features repairing spalled concrete, replacing joint seals, ret- rofitting severely corroded components of the bridge’s structure, and coating all exposed steel surfaces with a corrosion treatment. This bridge connecting Glen with California avenues will be closed for the du- ration of the project, which is scheduled to be finished by this winter. Following the completion of the resto- ration project, the bridge is
scheduled to reopen under its regular 24/7 access.
