Zumba For Scholars Jan. 26

More sweat equals more scholarships at Kalaheo High School’s PTSA-sponsored Dollars for Scholars Zumbathon, set for 2 to 4 p.m. Jan. 26.

The event in the school gym requires a $10 fee/donation at the door. All proceeds go toward college scholarships and to winter or spring athletic teams that participate in ticket sales.

Zumba lovers can expect to see Teddi McEwan as lead instructor, and she believes that the benefit has, well, other benefits for attendees. “It’s a great opportunity to explore teaching styles of different Zumba instructors, to find a good fit for a regular class,” she explained.

Because the fundraiser is on a Sunday, participants are advised to enter the gym through the neighborhood, as the back gate will be locked. Gym doors open at 1:30 p.m.
