WW Business Expo Invites Young Entrepreneurs To Sign Up
The 2012 Windward Business Expo Oct. 27-28, sponsored by Kailua Chamber of Commerce, will offer more than 100 exhibits and 36 workshops to educate the community by focusing on growing and marketing businesses.
“I look forward to seeing all of our members participating as exhibitors, putting on workshops, learning and networking at the event,” said Linda Goldstein, KCOC president. “We also invite those who are not yet members to sign up for a booth and get involved as well.
We anticipate this will be a very successful event, providing lots of opportunity for professional and business growth.”
Le Jardin Academy’s gymnasium will house the expo from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., with free shuttle parking and overflow parking at Hawaii Pacific University.
Hourly drawings are planned for great prizes like an iPhone 5 and Canon PowerShot digital cameras. Admission is $5, and children 12 and under get in free.
Children ages 6-18 years old can head to the Keiki Business Expo from noon to 3 p.m. Oct. 28, when young entrepreneurs can upload their business plans to a website and be judged by a panel of business leaders in the business community.
“Students will either work for a business or interact with business all their lives, and it’s important for them to understand how they work,” said Cynthia Manley, Le Jardin Academy public relations director and mother of two young entrepreneurs. Interested keiki must register online before Oct. 22 at kailuachamber.com or by calling 261-7997 or 783-1705.
A significant portion of expo profits will fund scholarships for Windward students.
