Windward Leaders In The Loop As 2014-15 Omidyar Fellows
Hawaii Leadership Forum recently announced its picks for the 2014-15 Omidyar Fellows program, which includes three area rising stars who already are immersed in community leadership roles.
Now in its third year, the latest 14 Fellows were selected through a rigorous application and interview process for a 15-month curriculum of training, executive coaching, dialogue with community leaders and more — all intended to groom leaders for Hawaii’s future.
Windward Oahu’s Fellows listed below will begin their training in October.
* Alex Harris of Ko’olaupoko, senior program officer for education at Harold K.L. Castle Foundation, co-founder of Kanu Hawaii, Envision Hawaii and the Education Delivery Institute, graduate of Brown and Harvard universities, experience in local and national education reform
* Kerrie Urosevich of Kaneohe, action strategy coordinator for Governor’s Executive Office on Early Learning, teacher at UH Matsunaga Institute for Peace, graduate Gustavus Adolphus College, Monterey Institute of International Studies, UH Manoa
* Stephany Vaioleti of Kahuku, CEO of Kahuku Medical Center, graduate of UH Manoa (social work) and UH law school, board member Ko’olauloa Educational Alliance Corp.
“We look forward to the Omidyar Fellows becoming a close, collaborative team of leaders who will improve our state, and the world, together,” said Kalei Stern, external relations director.
The program is supported by Hawaii Community Foundation, which received a $50-million commitment from local philanthropists Pierre and Pam Omidyar in 2009.
