WhiteHOT Hawaii
Daisy Merto started working in the bridal industry in 2006, and instantly fell in love with her job.
“I absolutely love helping brides find their dream gowns and offering advice on wedding planning,” she explains.
She also has a passion for fashion, and with encouragement from fiance Ajax Maharlika, started her own business, WhiteHOT Hawaii, which opened Jan. 24. Located at 3457 Waialae Ave., Suite 201, in Kaimuki, WhiteHOT Hawaii specializes in bridal gowns, evening wear and special occasion dresses for brides and beyond.
“People can find a variety of wedding gowns, particularly more fashion-forward, edgier styles, and simple, more casual gowns perfect for vow renewals, beach weddings and smaller affairs,” says Merto, who was born and raised in Guam.
“We also specialize in fun, sassy party and special occasion styles for brides to wear at all their special events before their wedding day (such as the bridal shower, bachelorette party, rehearsal dinner, etc.) or for anyone just looking for a great date night or girls’ night out outfit. We also are working to expand our inventory catering to prom or pageant clients.”

Merto moved to Hawaii in 2004 to attend college, earning her associates degree in liberal arts at Kapiolani Community College, followed by her B.A. in Apparel Product Design & Merchandising at University of Hawaii-Manoa. She worked at David’s Bridal as a wedding consultant and in management before leaving in December 2013 to raise her son Michelangelo, who is now 1-and-a-half years old.
“WhiteHOT Hawaii is different from other stores because we specialize in more non-traditional bridal styles that will definitely help a bride’s guests remember her fabulous gown,” Merto adds. “We also provide a personalized, fun experience in a modern, stylish boutique environment.”
