The Wedding Cafe hosts its semi-annual gown sale at The Bridal Boutique (627 South St.) March 31 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Everything – bridal gowns, bridesmaids dresses, flower girl dresses, mother of the bride dresses, bridal accessories and more – is 40 percent off. For those who can’t wait, you can go down to The Bridal Boutique now, browse and try on dresses, and if you find that dream dress, you can put it on hold and swing by March 31 to receive the 40 percent discount. Also, for every $100 spent at the semiannual gown sale, receive an entry for one of 10 raffle prizes. Prizes include facial gift certificates, manicure and pedicure services and more.

Spring Fashions And Fun At Ward Centers
Students from the University of Hawaii at Manoa’s Apparel Product Design & Merchandising Program will dress mannequins with garments and accessories crafted entirely from recyclables, such as plastic bags, soda cans and newspapers, and display their finished products at Ward Centre. Shoppers can watch the students place their final touches on the mannequins from 10 a.m. to noon April 7, and the mannequins will be on display during mall hours through April 22. Shoppers also are invited to vote for their favorite design, and student designers of the three mannequins with the most votes will win special prizes. Also happening at Ward Centers April 6 and 7:
* Spring plant show and sale featuring colorful varieties of anthuriums and orchids, along with ti-leaf, cactus, a variety of garden plants, haku lei, corsages and floral arrangements. Presented by the Hawaiian Anthurium Society, the plant show and sale will be held at the ewa end of Ward Warehouse April 6 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., and April 7 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. There also will be free horticulture workshops at the Ward Warehouse amphitheater stage at 10 a.m. daily.
* Enjoy free spring activities, presented by MOA Hawaii, in the Kakaako Conference Room on the second floor of Ward Warehouse. On April 7, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., enjoy a bontemae tea ceremony, participate in healing jorei, and craft make-and-take mini floral arrangements. On Friday and Saturday, the winners of the annual Children’s Painting Contest, sponsored by Pan Pacific Culture and MOA Hawaii, will be on display. The painting exhibit is free and open to the public April 6 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., and April 7 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
* Celebrate Easter with fun keiki acitivities April 7 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Ward Warehouse, Diamond Head end. Sponsored by Ka Lei Eggs, activities include sun craft, balloons, free temporary tattoos and Easter basket craft with a $1 donation to benefit Read-To-Me International. First 50 entrants will receive a certificate for a dozen Ka Lei eggs. Registration begins at 11 a.m. with judging at 11:30 a.m. For more information, visit wardcenters.com.
