WCC Sets Office Skills Class For Job Seekers
Unemployed residents or those needing to upgrade their job skills can learn more about how to land an office or administrative support job during an Windward Community College open house, set for 5 to 6:30 p.m. today (Feb. 13).
The college will begin a course March 4 called Quick Response for Computer and Business Skills, offered at the convenience and pace of each student. It’s run by WCC’s non-credit division and supported by a Carl Perkins vocational and technical grant.
Topics include Microsoft Office training, keyboarding by touch, and soft skills for career success – office etiquette, customer-focused attitudes, critical thinking, problem solving, team player skills, dependability, listening and communication. Students also will have access to a faculty member during the Friday computer labs.
