Fred Lau of Hawaiian Landscaping and Mari’s Gardens in Mililani played a key role in an August tree planting at Laulima Women’s House in Makiki, which houses three nonprofits. Fred provided the tree at a discount. The 30-foot shower tree that his tree replaced is featured in Disney’s The Odd Life of Timothy Green, but termites finally got the better of it.
