Congratulations to renowned Kailua artist, teacher and filmmaker Meleanna Aluli Meyer, who recently received the He Kumu Kukui 2014 MAMo award for her creative contributions to Native Hawaiian culture … Students of St. Ann’s School circa 1984-1991 may recall Sister Helen Louise Gleason, who taught kindergarten there before being sent to teach in Papua New Guinea. Sister Helen died Sept. 11 at the Maryknoll Sisters Center in Maryknoll, N.Y., at age 85 …
