UH Distinguished Alumni
University of Hawai‘i Alumni Association recognized its 2017 Distinguished Alumni Awards honorees at Sheraton Waikīkī. This year’s recipients included Rockne Freitas, James Hirai, Kitty Lagareta and Harold Nishimura. State Sen. Sam Slom was honored with the UH Founders Alumni Association Lifetime Achievement Award, while late U.S. Rep. K. Mark Takai received the UHAA President’s Award.
