Titanic Resurrected On Stage
This year marks the 100th anniversary of the Titanic’s April 15 maiden voyage, and Diamond Head Theatre will observe that historic tragedy in community theater style with Titanic the Musical, running March 30 to April 15.
The production is codirected and choreographed by John Rampage and Deanna Luster and features Megan Mount as musical director. It aims to recreate events leading up to the ship’s sinking differently than the movies, but in an equally compelling way.
This is a story of love and heroism as passengers and crew members struggle to overcome the disaster. Songs filled with optimism and joy echo on the docks before the Titanic sails off, but this celebration turns quickly somber when the ship hits an iceberg and starts taking on water.
Showtimes are 8 p.m. Thursdays to Saturdays, 4 p.m. Sundays, and 3 p.m. Saturday matinees April 7 and 14.
Tickets range from $12 and $42 and can be purchased online at diamondheadtheatre.com or by phone at 733-0274.
