The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part II
Tab Sabre
Miss Vamp 2012
Where and with whom did you see the movie?
I saw it at Ward Theatres by myself.
Overall, what did you think?
It wasn’t captivating and, of course, it was overhyped and unrealistic, and quite cheesy with all of the mushy love stuff between Bella and Edward.
If you didn’t know it was a movie about vampires, you would have thought it was a movie about domestic violence and dysfunctional families.
Without giving away the ending, what was one of your favorite scenes?
When Jacob has to tell Bella that he has imprinted her daughter. Bella was a fierce mama lion about it! How dare he!
On a scale of one to four stars, what would you rate this film?
I would give it ★★★1/2. Only within the last 30 minutes or so did it really get interesting.
What did you think of the cinematography?
The cinematography was really neat. They have really come a long way since the first movie! Beautiful artsy stuff everywhere, and the “fight scene” was amazing! A shocker.
Was the message/theme clear?
These vampires are really inauthentic, so I would say the message was not clear at all. Too many love story scenes between Edward and Bella. Not enough Dakota Fanning.
To whom would you recommend this movie?
I would recommend this movie to die-hard Twilight fans, but not to any true sanguinarians because, really, they don’t even have fangs.
They glitter. They have super powers. It’s as if they did a dial-in survey and found out the majority of people like glitter, messy hair, colored contacts and X-Men, so they just threw it all together.
Did any of the actors stand out?
The daughter Reneesme has a strange growth rate. It’s quite interesting. She has huge eyes. A very beautiful choice for the role.
Did you identify with any of the characters?
If I had to identify with one specific character it would have to be Bella because I too am a newborn vampire.
Did the soundtrack contribute significantly to the film?
The soundtrack was slow with too much crescendo. I don’t believe it was an attribute to this film, like how the first film had a lot of popular underground music.
I actually bought the first Twilight soundtrack. I would not buy this one.
What’s your favorite movie snack?
I love Muddy Bears, but Ward Theatre does not carry them anymore … sad face.
