The Rise Of Online Degrees
Online education is more popular than ever. More than 30 percent of the 21 million college students in the United States are taking at least one online course, according to the Babson Survey Research Group and College Board’s latest report in January. Here at Chaminade University, almost half of our graduate students are taking online courses.

What makes online education so appealing? Online college courses let people advance their careers while continuing to work. They also can be ideal for those who are in the military. With the option to learn on your schedule, the convenience and flexibility of online courses can’t be beat.
Recently, Chaminade launched its Online MBA program to enable students to earn their MBA without ever setting foot in a classroom. The program accepts new students four times per year, and all students have the option to take both online and on-campus MBA classes. All of Chaminade’s courses – virtual and in-person – maintain small class sizes so students receive individual attention from instructors and can network with their fellow students. Chaminade’s online courses use an interactive platform that combines audio, video and collaboration tools that makes lectures engaging and enables students to work in groups.
The Online MBA is the latest addition to the array of online courses at Chaminade, which includes subjects such as criminal justice, psychology and even art. Chaminade also recently launched Hawaii’s first fully accredited online teaching and education degrees at both the graduate and undergraduate levels, so aspiring teachers can get the certifications they need.
