Where and with whom did you see the movie?
At Ward Consolidated Theaters.
It is always best to enjoy a great “Chick Flick” movie with your besties. I went with one of my close girlfriends, celebrity makeup-hair artist Jessica Hoffman. She was the best movie date ever! We gushed like teenage girls, laughed out loud, cried, sighed and fell in love with the movie.
Overall what did you think?
I loved the movie. Overall, it is warm and romantic, and a very satisfying romantic chick flick. I was hooked by the premise of the story. It kept my attention from the beginning, and the story was such a sweet love story that I left the movie feeling inspired and full of butterflies.
Without giving away the ending, what was one of your favorite scenes?
There were a couple of favorite scene I loved throughout the movie. But one standout scene was when Logan (Zac Efron) is confronted my Beth’s former husband in public at gunpoint. In this scene, Logan’s character shines as he diffuses the situation. He encapsulated what it means to be a good man. He is a man of honor, integrity and humbleness. Not to mention the fact that he could quickly take you down in two seconds to protect himself and the ones he loves … Everything a woman wants.
On a scale of one to four stars, what would you rate this film?
I’d give this movie ★★★1/2 or ★★★★ stars myself. It has been a while since I really enjoyed a really good love story.
Was the message/theme clear?
This film gives rise to the power of faith and has infinite possibilities of what destiny has in store for those who believe.
The message of the film is simply love. It comes in many forms, and it is a universal characteristic. Everyone wants to believe that love can conquer all or that it can happen to everyone. Love is a timeless emotion, and the feeling of love is unchanging no matter what the story is.
Did it remind you of any other work in film?
If you are a fan of former movies of Nicholas Sparks’ books like The Notebook and Dear John, then you will of course be a fan of this movie. I have not read the book, so I really can’t compare it with the movie, but I found this to be a very good movie.
To whom would you recommend this movie?
All guys who want to make their wife or girlfriend happy or just like love stores, I would definitely recommend this as a date movie or a girls’ night out. Definitely not kids under 18 because of some suggestive scenes.
Did any of the actors stand out?
Inspiring yet complicated characters with great substance. Blyth Danner is terrific as “Nana.” Zac Efron is all grown up in this film and has come a long way from his teenage years of High School Musical. His character is romantic and the type of guy most women dream up.
Did you identify with any of the characters?
I think, like most women, I can definitely identify with Beth, a single parent and a very strong individual who struggles to find balance of being the best for herself and her family. And like most women, she fights her own internal battles, sometimes puts her own hopes and dreams on the back burner to do what she can, in the best way she can, for her family. In the end she finds balance in all aspects of her life.
Did the soundtrack contribute significantly to the film?
The key soundtrack was perfect for the movie. I already bought it off of iTunes.
On a different note, what’s new with you?
I am professional working as a stylist, hair and makeup artist for all in-studio, on-location creative and personal styling services in professional fashion production, entertainment, commercial, print and motion picture. I have a great team with PS Media. There is definitely never a dull moment in my world.
