Down Syndrome Ohana Buddy Walk
Down Syndrome Ohana Hawaii held its second annual Buddy Walk earlier this year at Kakaako Waterfront Park. The mile-long walk started and ended at the park amphitheater, followed by performances by talented members of the Down syndrome community, raffle prizes and free shave ice, Kettle Korn and lunch for registered participants. Funds raised support Ohana members in the journey of experiencing the joys and challenges that go along with raising a child with Down syndrome and by offering workshops and creating community awareness to enable individuals with Down syndrome to reach their fullest potential.
