Surfrider Spirit Sessions Golf Tourney
Surfrider Spirit Sessions sponsored its first Surf to the Turf Golf Tournament fundraiser Feb. 28 at Hawaii Kai Championship Golf Course. The nonprofit works with Hawaii family courts to match adjudicated teens with volunteer adult surf mentors for eight-week surf sessions on Waikiki Beach. The program motivates at-risk youths to get out of the juvenile justice system and become productive community members.
