Stenbergs To Showcase Their Collection — From Other Artists
Kailua artist Warren Stenberg and wife Carolyn will share their extensive collection of art by others in an exhibition from July 3 to 30 at Ho’omaluhia Botanical Garden gallery.
The show includes works by nationally recognized artists accumulated over 25 years, as well as creations from prominent local talents such as Satoru Abe, Harry Tsuchidana, Lauren Okano, O. Daniel Van Zyle, Dennis Morton and many others. A reception also is scheduled for 3:30-5:30 p.m. July 7 at the garden gallery, which several of the local artists may attend. The Stenbergs have invited the Hawaii artists to enhance the show with more of their own works.
“As it grows, your art collection becomes your personal treasure to be protected, preserved and, of most importance, to be shared,” explained Stenberg, who is an award-winning painter himself and much sought after to enhance the walls of other art lovers.
“Now in 2013 we have discovered we have magically amassed a rather interesting collection.”
A “very small preview” of it will be in the Ho’omaluhia exhibition.
An avid plein air painter, Stenberg is known for his landscapes, seascapes, still lifes, portraits and other works in oils, acrylics, gouache, collage and mixed media.
The park is open daily from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. For more information, call 233-7323.
