Special Thanks For The Moms
Dear Pamela,
I enjoy reading MidWeek and hope you will help me thank someone who did something special for me.
I recently was buying pastry at Liliha Bakery and the place was filled with people. When the cashier was about to ring up my purchase, a young lady who had been chatting with her girlfriend stepped forward and gave her charge card to the cashier.
I was startled, thinking the young lady had gotten our orders mixed up.
But she smiled and said, “You remind me of my grandmother, and Mother’s Day is soon, so have a happy Mother’s Day!”
I was so surprised and thanked her but was so shocked by this unexpected event that I didn’t get her name. I will always remember and appreciate her thoughtfulness, so I hope she reads this and knows how much it means to me.
I’ve always enjoyed reading about acts of kindness from strangers, never thinking I would have such a special experience. But now I do, thanks to this wonderful person.

Hi Pamela,
On Friday, my wife, daughter and I decided to have our Mother’s Day dinner early, since I work late in the evening on Sunday. We ate at Chili’s in Mililani. Toward the end of our meal, our server told us that someone had taken care of our bill and that we could leave when we were finished. We were speechless. This never happens to us.
We were so touched by the random act of kindness that we decided to pay it forward. We made sure our server received a good tip and then paid for another person’s meal. We want to thank that person or family and let them know that this act did not go unappreciated.

Dear Pamela,
Since it was recently Mothers Day, I’d like to thank a lady by the name of Jean, who has always been an inspiration to me. When my husband and I were down and out, she was always available with a listening ear and instructional advice. She was our spiritual mother, which meant that guidance, correction and encouragement came along with the package.
Sometimes I was a little stubborn, but I could always feel the love of God through her words.
So here is a shoutout to all the moms who are a blessing of the Lord. Thank you, Jean Corpis.
