Sony’s PlayStation 4 Release Date
At last week’s Gamescom Sony press conference in Germany, Sony announced PlayStation 4 (PS4) will be available Nov. 15 in the U.S. and Canada, and Nov. 29 in Europe and Latin American countries. This is huge, since the world has been waiting for a date!
It was nice to see actual functional PS4 systems at the recent Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3), but this is truly exciting to have a solid date now. Sony additionally announced that the PS Vita price will drop to $199, and a new 12GB variant of the PlayStation 3 will be the same price as the PS Vita.

As far as game titles go, Assassins Creed 4: Black Flag, Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn and Watch Dogs will have content exclusive to the PS4. All games on the PS4 are capable of running on the PS Vita via remote play (convenient if you want to bring it with you around the house).
Roughly 180 titles overall are in development for the PS4 by various developers and publishers, including SCE Worldwide Studios. Also, one of my favorites of E3, Grand Turismo 6, will launch Nov. 6.
You can pre-order your PS4 now for $399. If you’re going to do it, do it soon! Many places are sold out, but as I’m writing this, Walmart.com and BestBuy.com are still taking orders.
DuckTales: Remastered
Back in the day, I remember watching the DuckTales cartoon almost every day after school. That song, DuckTales! Woo-Oo!, is ingrained forever in my memory! A few years after the cartoon exploded in popularity, you may recall the video game released by Nintendo in 1989. It was widely acknowledged as one of the generation’s seminal platform titles.
This version of the game once again follows the adventures of Scrooge McDuck and his nephews – Huey, Dewey and Louie – as they explore various themed worlds in search of five legendary treasures.
All of the visuals from the original 8-bit game have been beautifully re-created as hand-drawn animated sprites across a background of re-envisioned level backgrounds. Original Disney character voice talent, including some from the original cartoon TV series, bring the in-game characters to life with charm and wit, while the classic melodies of the original soundtrack are given a modern twist.
Further additions to the original include an all-new tutorial level, where players can get familiar with the iconic pogo jump and cane swing, and Scrooge McDuck’s very own Money Bin stage, where Scrooge can dive into his dimes collected from each level directly off the springboard.
The gameplay is exactly like the original but nails the the mechanics of the game while also introducing the player to a true DuckTales storyline. It handles the exact same way the original game does, so don’t use the joystick to maneuver yourself, otherwise you’ll be frustrated. If you’re a child of the 1980s generation, this is a must-have gem, especially if you were a fan of the original DuckTales on the Nintendo. For its low $15 price, you can’t go wrong.
DuckTales: Remastered is rated E for Everyone, and you also can acquire it for 1200 Microsoft points on the Xbox 360. It is available for your PC, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 or Wii U. It’s a small price to pay for so much entertainment.
