Soldiers To Deploy To Kuwait
Approximately 30 Schofield Barracks soldiers were recognized during a deployment ceremony May 13, in preparation for their upcoming deployment to Kuwait.
“The 175th is going to go off and do a theater mission. They will provide financial management operations in terms of banking currency, procurement, support, dispersing and economic development,” explained Maj. Gen. Edward F. Dorman III, the 8th Theater Sustainment Company commanding general. Dorman said the soldiers’ financial mission is often taken for granted, but is critical when it comes to national resources and tax dollars.
The troops traveled to more than three continents and several states over the last four months to train and prepare, including a trip to the Federal Reserve Bank in Boston.
