Schutz At Honolulu Brass Show
Critically acclaimed soprano Rachel Schutz is guest artist for Chamber Music Hawaii’s Feb. 17 concert at Paliku Theatre, where she will sing with the Honolulu Brass.
The curtain goes up at 7:30 p.m. and will feature the Welsh-born Schutz singing Let the Bright Seraphim by George Frederic Handel, Su Le Sponde del Tebro by Alessandro Scarlatti and Four Sierra Scenes by Anthony Plog. Honolulu Brass will perform Quintet by Michale Kamen, who is best-known for film scores and work for Bon Jovi, Aerosmith, Pink Floyd and other contemporary bands.
Schutz also teaches at UH Manoa along with her husband, pianist and soloist Jonathan Korth. They have performed separately and together in Hawaii and all over the world.
Refreshments will be available at intermission, and concert fans can meet with the performers at the end of the program.
