Roy Matsumoto Wins A $250 Spree At Don Quijote

On a recent Friday, Roy Matsumoto and wife Gayle made their weekly grocery shopping trip to Don Quijote in Pearl City. As they made their purchase at 12:10 p.m., MidWeek‘s representative approached Roy with a simple question. He answered correctly and instantly won a $250 Don Quijote shopping spree.

“We shop here weekly,” said this week’s Mystery Shopper, who is retired from Aloha Airlines, where he worked in the accounting department. “They have reasonable prices and everything is available in one place.”

Roy was born and raised on Maui, and graduated from Maui High School in 1962. He has two grown children, and enjoys taking care of his grandnephew and cooking.

He also likes to read MidWeek.

“I usually check the ads,” he said. “I also like to read about restaurants and the cover stories.”
