Ross Opening At Kahala Mall
Mall space seldom stays empty for long. Ross Dress for Less opens in the old Barnes & Noble space on Kahala Mall’s upper level this month, while LAVISH and Fighting Eel will fill smaller vacancies left by Luxe Nail Spa and Adore in a few months.
Ross also operates at Hawaii Kai Towne Center, specializing in off-price and discounted apparel, accessories, footwear and lifestyle products. The 23,000-square-foot store will be the chain’s 16th Hawaii location, and 13th on Oahu. Fifty employees are being hired to work at Kahala Mall. To apply, visit rossstores.com/careers.
The nail, wax and lash bar LAVISH is an extension of the L’mour Nail & Beauty/Wax & Lash Bar in Pearlridge Center, specializing in nail enhancements and care, as well as glitter body tattoos. It will open next to California Pizza Kitchen. It also saves beauty profiles of each client, so it can recall their preferences on return visits. For its opening, the store will hold raffles for gift certificates, have free gifts for purchases of $60 or more, and offer a 25 percent discount on services more than $25.
Fashion boutique Fighting Eel, beloved by A-list celebrities and run by designers Rona Bennett and Lan Chung, focuses on trendyyet-minimalistic outfits and accessories. It also has shops in Kailua, Waikiki and Chinatown. The Kahala shop is between T&C Surf Designs and Up & Riding.
Adore, meanwhile, moved to a new spot in Kahala Mall, across the hall in the former Belle space.
Barnes & Noble closed in 2013, leaving open only its Ala Moana Center store.
