Ross For Less Is More At Club
Ross Stores Inc. has formed a partnership with Boys & Girls Club of Hawaii to strengthen Power Hour, the club’s interactive after-school homework assistance program.
The national chain, which sells off-price apparel and home fashions, intends to involve its local employees, as well as funding, in the effort, which is considered one of America’s top programs supporting academic success.
Ross has a store in Windward City Shopping Center, and BGCH has a clubhouse in nearby Kailua, where children ages 7 to 17 can come for activities, sports and nurturing programs like Power Hour, which involves adult tutors, training and resources.
“We know that regular participation in out-of-school-time educational programs like Power Hour can help to address the high school dropout crisis and bridge the achievement gap for our youths,” said Tim Motts, CEO of BGCH.
