Rockin’ Cool Reaction
Dear Pamela,
I want to give some much-deserved APPLAUSE to a couple who sat in front of us at the Kings of Leon concert at Blaisdell Arena. We were sitting in the tiers, second row above the upper walkway. After a while, everyone started standing up. I tried to stand as long as I could, but gallbladder surgery last month made it painful.
My husband explained to the couple in front of us that I was temporarily disabled and asked them to sit down. Instead of getting all huhu about it, they actually suggested that we switch seats. That way, I would have a clear view and they would be standing behind us.
Can you believe it? Such kindness is so rare. Afterward, we thanked them again. Their names are Nicole and Reggie, but I did not think to ask them for last names. Mahalo again for being so considerate.

Aloha Pamela,
I’m writing this thank you letter on behalf of my elderly parents. Several weeks ago, my mother fainted and fell to the ground outside the Windward Mall entrance while my dad parked their car.
Mahalo to the wonderful couple and their friend from Waimanalo, who offered assistance and care to my mom. We also are grateful for the blessing they did for her.
Mahalo and God bless.

Dear Pamela,
I need to thank a Good Samaritan who turned in my purse at the Sack N Save in Salt Lake. The customer-service lady only could tell me a customer turned it in. I left my purse in the shopping cart in the parking lot. I drove all the way home without realizing it. I have never felt so stupid.
The trip back to the store was the longest ride of my life, trying to stay within the speed limit since I had no license or ID on me, and of course I hit every red light on Salt Lake Boulevard. I was praying all the way that there was an honest person out there.
Whoever you are, I thank you so very much. I will always remember this day and the aloha you have shown me.

Dear Frankie, Millie and Navares Ohana,
Such thoughtfulness and aloha exist everywhere, yet we always seem to be surprised when we are the recipients. Despite evidence to the contrary, I truly believe we are born with a tremendous capacity for kindness and seek out opportunities to show our selflessness.
