Where and with whom did you see the movie?
I went with my friend Ted to Pearlridge Consolidated Theatres.
Overall what did you think?
I was pleasantly surprised. It started out slow, but as the movie progressed it got better. I really enjoyed the music. They sang some great rock ballads.
Without giving away the ending, what was one of your favorite scenes?
I liked the scene where the character Wolfgang Von Colt’s (Drew Boley played by Diego Boneta) band first went on stage.
On a scale of one to four stars, what would you rate this film?
I would give it ★★★.
What did you think of the cinematography?
It was good! They had some awesome concert scenes.
Was the message or theme clear?
The message that rock ‘n’ roll lives is clear.
To whom would you recommend this movie?
I would recommend this movie to anyone who loves rock ‘n’ roll.
Did any of the actors stand out?
I thought Tom Cruise (Stacee Jaxx), Alec Baldwin (Dennis Dupree) and Russell Brand (Lonny) all did a good job acting.
Did you identify with any of the characters?
I identified the most with Alec Baldwin’s character. He had the same challenges that I have experienced before in operating a concert venue/nightclub.
Did the soundtrack contribute significantly to the film?
Definitely! The soundtrack makes the movie.
Would you buy this movie when it comes out on DVD?
Yes. It will remind me of the many years working at Pipeline Cafe.
What’s your favorite movie snack?
Popcorn. A little mochi crunch or hurricane mix makes it even better.
On a different note, what’s new with you?
I am still promoting events and shows. I just did a sold-out comedy show a couple Saturday nights ago at Hawaii Theatre. I specialize in fundraisers and private parties. I have the band Fusion at Champion Sports Bar on Saturday, June 30, and also D.O.A. (Dave Only Albums) tribute to the early Van Halen Band, along with Taja and NotsoSammy of Redfoot, Chaotic Fire and Sentor, also June 30 at Hawaiian Brian’s.
