Rock ’n’ Glow At Nov. 15 Run
Runners are invited to don their best (neon) red, white, blue and glow-friendly attire for the U.S. VETS’ 10th annual Patriotic Glow 5K Run, set for Nov. 15 at Pointer Field in Kalaeloa.
The 3.1-mile run, which starts at 6 p.m., will have blacklight zones that truly will light up the night (if one is wearing the appropriate gear).
From 4 to 7:30 p.m., a pre-run family event will have food trucks (and a food truck glow contest), keiki activities, a vendor fair, fun contests and a glow store.
Race participants can compete for cash prizes in the categories of most creative group, most patriotic and most creative individual.
A post-run celebration from 7 to 8:30 p.m. will have more contests, raffle prizes, food and entertainment with live music and DJs.
This year’s goal is to raise $100,000, which will go toward hot meals, job training, referral services, housing placements and support for formerly homeless veterans who need assistance getting back on their feet and back into society.
Registration fee is $55 for the general public ($40 online) and $45 for military ($35 online).
Children under age 10 can run for free.
