Robert Tanaka Wins A $250 Spree At Foodland
On Monday, Robert Tanaka needed molasses for the kung pao chicken he was making for dinner, so he took a trip to Foodland on Beretania Street. As he made his purchase at 2:45 p.m., MidWeek‘s representative approached Robert with a simple question. He answered correctly and instantly won a $250 Foodland shopping spree.
“I like shopping at Foodland because it’s convenient,” said this week’s Mystery Shopper, a physician. “Also, it’s a local store that gives back to the community. I remember (Foodland founder) Mr. Sullivan. He was very visible in the community and philanthropic, which I always admired.”
Robert was born and raised in Manoa, and is a graduate of Punahou School. In his free time, he enjoys cycling and cooking. He also likes to read MidWeek.
“It’s different and it has a lot of little feature articles,” he said. “Also, it’s local and the ads are always there.”
