Renowned Dr. Speaks At FilCom

Dr. Alfredo Galvez will visit the Filipino Community Center from 9:30 a.m. to noon Saturday to share his research in genetics.

Galvez is most widely known for his discovery of a natural peptide called Lunasin, which has been shown to tackle serious diseases.

A graduate of University of the Philippines, he has conducted research at UC-Berkeley and currently is a research scientist in nutritional genomics at UC-Davis.

His presentation will focus on the impact that Lunasin can have on genetic makeup and health issues. Lunasin has been linked to reducing cholesterol, promoting weight loss and lowering blood sugar.
