Readers To Stage ‘Irena’s Vow’
Windward Readers Theatre continues its tribute to World War II with a production of Irena’s Vow in Pohai Nani auditorium.
Irena’s Vow tells the story of Polish nurse Irena Gut, who saved a dozen Jews from Nazis during the war by hiding them in the house of a German army major. Vanita Rae Smith directs the play by Dan Gordon, with dramatic readers Shari Lynn, Jim Tharp, Lorna Mount, Stu Hirayama and Marjorie DeSantis.
Showtimes are 7 p.m. March 3 and 5, and 2 p.m. March 8. Admission is free, but donations are encouraged to cover royalty charges. The play is sponsored by Hui o Pohai Nani and presented by the Hui Entertainment Committee.
