Queen’s West Oahu Set To Open May 20
The Queen’s Health Systems announced last week that the Queen’s Medical Center-West Oahu will open its doors to patients on May 20.
“This is an exciting time for Queen’s, our state and most importantly the West Oahu community,” said Susan Murray, senior vice president of The Queen’s Health Systems, West Oahu Region, and chief operating officer of The Queen’s Medical Center-West Oahu. “Since Queen’s acquired Hawaii Medical Center West, our team has been working diligently to ensure that we will be able to provide our patients with access to quality health care at a state-of-the-art facility without having to travel into Honolulu.”
Queen’s Health Systems acquired the facility from St. Francis Healthcare System of Hawaii in December 2012 after Hawaii Medical Center West shut down. The Queen’s Medical Center-West Oahu will feature an emergency room, inpatient and outpatient surgery, and a cardiology center. An imaging center and specialty clinics have opened and currently are ready to accept patients. When the facility opens in May, there will be 80 patient beds – a figure that Queen’s already is planning to increase.
