Providing A Boost To Hawaii’s Nonprofits
By Arden Penton, Volta’s Director of Media and Operations
After a tremendous response in 2013, we are excited to bring back our corporate giving program, Awareness Powered by Volta, which helps nonprofit and community groups with building awareness by providing them free advertising space worth thousands of dollars on Volta’s electric vehicle (EV) charging station kiosks.
In Hawaii, we have a network of nearly 40 free charging stations at popular destinations around Oahu and Maui.
With so many island nonprofits operating on limited marketing budgets, Awareness Powered by Volta offers prime advertising space on the 4-by-8-foot kiosks to help groups get their message out to the community.
We are interested in helping more nonprofits this year, and we need your kokua.
The following organizations have been named as semifinalists in this year’s contest: Blue Planet Foundation, Make-A-Wish Hawaii, Oahu SPCA, Aloha Medical Mission and Lanakila Pacific.
Between now and Feb. 28, please visit our Facebook page (Volta Charging) to vote for the group that should receive the grand prize.
Volta will award the winning organization a minimum of three months of free advertising at a Volta’s EV charging station valued at $6,000.
The runner-up in the contest will receive a minimum one month of free advertising valued at $2,000.
Last year, we ended up extending free advertising space from three months to eight months for the 2013 winners, HUGS and Blue Planet, for a total value of $25,000 in free ads.
We believe in giving back to these groups that do so much for our communities, so make sure you vote in the contest for your favorite organization.
Founded in 2010, Volta Industries LLC has a proven track record in the design and installation of EV charging projects in Hawaii and California, including the first charging station for the state of Hawaii installed at the Capitol in July 2011. Through the Volta Network, Volta designs, installs and maintains the EV charging stations and provides the energy to the EV driver, all free of charge.
