Polo Season Is Now Underway

Honolulu Polo Club is into its second month of the 2012 season at the Waimanalo polo grounds, hosting lively competitions every Sunday at Waimanalo Polo Field through Oct. 28.

Matches begin at 3 p.m. this year — the club’s 26th anniversary season. Therapeutic Horsemanship of Hawaii mans the clubhouse snack bar, which is open to HPC members. The public is welcome to enjoy “hoolaulea tailgating” when the gates open to early birds at 1 p.m. Admission is $3, with children under 12 and military and their families admitted free (with ID).

Next up is the Kaoru Kiwi Challenge Aug. 12, the USPA Women’s Challenge Cup Aug. 19 and the Imai Samurai Cup Aug. 26. Details of weekly action are listed on the club website at honolulupolo.com.
