Polo Is Back In Waimanalo
The polo ponies are running again on Waimanalo Field with the opening of Honolulu Polo Club’s 29th season last weekend.
This Sunday it’s the Amateur Cup USPA, starting at 3 p.m. Still ahead in June are league matches June 13 and 28, and the Campos Cup (Players Cup USPA) June 21 that pays tribute to Tommy Campos.
The public is invited every week through Oct. 25, and gates open at 1 p.m. for tailgating. The Club House Snack Bar also has tasty provisions and is operated by Therapeutic Horsemanship of Hawaii as a fundraiser for the Waimanalo nonprofit.
Grand dame hostess is Annette Ebinger on the clubhouse top deck for social members.
Admission is $5, while children age 12 and under get in free. The polo field is located across from Bellows air station. For more information about the club and future events, call Ebinger at 396-0494 or visit the updated website at honolulupolo.com.
