• BIKEWAY A parade and breakfast celebrating the 50th anniversary of Lanikai Bikeway will be held from 8 to 10:30 a.m. Participants can hike or bike their way through the Lanikai Loop. A race starts at 8 a.m. at the A‘ala- papa entrance to the park. Categories are boys and girls, men and women, and fastest animal. There will be prizes for winners. The parade is at 9 a.m. with the theme “Loop da
Loop.” Next, a breakfast will be served for $5, followed by a serenade by vocalist Bobby Young from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Local artist Mark Brown will also be creat- ing paintings for the event, which will be auctioned off. Volunteers are also needed for the event. Last year, the bikeway was named for for- mer state Rep. Cynthia Thiel- en and community member Ted Rodgers, who led the effort to create it.
