Kāne‘ohe Little League recently had its Opening Day at He‘eia Neighborhood Park. The league had special guests participating from University of Hawai‘i Rainbow Warriors baseball team, including head coach Rich Hill along with players Scotty Scott (No. 1), Tai Walton (No. 33), Jared Quandt (No. 40) and Austin Teixeira (No. 23) — a local boy from Waimānalo. Hill provided words of wisdom and encouragement to the Kāne‘ohe Little League players. After
the ceremony, Hill and his players stayed to take pictures and sign autographs for all kids, families and friends. It capped off a successful opening day for the youth baseball community on the Windward side.
