‘Āhuimanu Elementary Girls Excel At Computer Science
Girls advised by ‘Āhuimanu Elementary School technology coordinator Nena Mossman recently won a competition put on
by Code/Art, a nonprofit dedicated to increasing the number
of girls studying computer science by inspiring them with the creative possibilities of computer programming. The competition was founded in 2016 in Miami. ‘Āhuimanu Elementary School submitted 13 entries. The 10 finalists in the National Western Region grades 3-5 all came from ‘Āhuimanu. The first-place winner with the most online votes (people’s choice) was fourth-grader Ivy Kukahiko. For more information on the competition, visit code-art. com/2022winners.
