The state Department of Education is now accepting nomina- tions for the 2024 Teacher of the Year. The HIDOE will acknowledge one out- standing teacher from each of the 15 complex areas. Among the honorees, one will be selected as the statewide Teacher of the Year and will be Hawai‘i’s candidate for the national Teacher of the Year award. Nominees should be in a state-approved school, teach pre-K through grade 12, and plan to continue in an active teaching sta- tus. The deadline to submit nominations is 4:30 p.m. April 28.
