Lind- sey’s wife, Jessica, is Ka- lapawai’s baker and crafts the cookies and some of Kalapawai’s ‘ono fresh- made pies that are available by the slice.
West O‘ahu residents should keep an eye out for Kalapawai’s spring menus as the team aims to “keep things interesting” for new and re- turning customers throughout the year.
“The emerald color is significant to Kalapawai,” Lindsey adds. “We paint- ed it green because it has a visceral, emotional kind of feeling of nostalgia to locals; it’s that old planta- tion-style architecture, and when you see certain styles or colors of buildings, it makes it feel like old Ha- wai‘i. The market was ex- actly that.”
