Grace Pacific Provides West O‘ahu Students With Opportunity
This year marked Grace Pacific’s 25th anniversary of its Outstanding Keiki Pro- gram. To celebrate, the verti- cally integrated materials and paving contractor welcomed 60 fifth-graders from Kapo- lei, Makakilo, Mauka Lani, Barbers Point and Ho‘okele Elementary schools, their ‘ohana and teachers to a cer- emony held at Kroc Center Hawai‘i.

“Being an Outstanding Keiki has helped me build a future for myself because I was able to go to college, and going to college has helped me be where I am today,” states Estanique. “It really helps the families and the children pave a path for their future. I was able to learn new skills, and I also have a lot more opportunities in front of me.”
At the event, the students were in for a full day of fun, including games, field activi- ties and art.

Keiki who have displayed the characteristics of good citizenship, academic excel- lence, leadership skills and community service are cho- sen by their administrators, counselors and/or teachers for the award.
Caitlyn Estanique, a for- mer Outstanding Keiki, was awarded four years of schol- arship support to pursue her bachelor’s degree in foren- sic science from Chaminade University before earning her master’s degree in forensic science from Indiana Univer- sity–Purdue University In- dianapolis.
