Aloha surfers and beachgoers,
What an amaz- ing month of April. We had waves for Easter and there’s more to finish off the rest of the month. There’s fun and freedom in the air and water.
The Wounded Warrior DATB event happened April 20 at White Plains. This was the first time in what felt like forever. The program is free, of course, and goes on the third Wednesday of every month.
of the disabled. Their pro- grams, services and events are invaluable. AccesSurf is a true pioneer of the ad- vancement of adaptive water sports and ocean recreation. Surfing and just being in the ocean, sharing the stoke, is pure therapeutic learning. Thank God it’s happening throughout all Hawai‘i nei, and even worldwide, be- cause of AccesSurf.
There’s also plenty going on in the world of surf.
Any past or present ser- vice member that is injured, wounded or battling illness is invited to join our Acces- Surf ‘ohana for some surf- ing, swimming and beach activities with their families. The volunteers are epic.
I’d like to kick off with AccesSurf’s Wounded War- rior Day at the Beach. As we know, the last couple years put a pause in many people’s programs. But now it finally feels like we’re really get- ting back, with some adjust- ments, to the good old days.
The ocean heals us all and AccesSurf knows it.
