According to Tim Palms, general manager of BMW
and MINI of Hawai‘i, the new dealership encompasses just under 30,000 square feet under one roof and sits on an expansive 2.5 acres. With 14 service bays, the Kapolei location will be the first and only MINI dealership in the nation to also house a full BMW service department.
It will utilize solar for elec- tricity and have ample EV chargers to accommodate the wave of electric MINI and BMW products coming soon. Customers may check in for service in person or via kiosk, all service and sales transactions can be per- formed in paperless fashion, and super-fast Wi-Fi will be available for guests and most dealership functions to uti- lize.
An added benefit of the large space is the ability to house a robust used car op- eration. While the Honolu- lu locations rely heavily on off-site storage of inventory, the new Kapolei dealership will have room for more than 100 used cars, so customers can shop close to home, even if it’s not for a brand-new MINI.
